San Ge 山个 (collection)

Xenia Chan, 17

Sculpture | Ceramic | NA

‘My collection consists of a series of hand-thrown donut-shaped pots meant to symbolize how I try to portray myself to others. In the process of making each pot, I experimented with different glaze combinations that would best give each one its own personality. The roundness of the pieces shows how I try to present the best image of myself, yet while still having flaws which are seen in the cracks and imperfections of the pieces. They are also very fragile and may seem to topple at any given moment, showing how my life tends to be unpredictable and very susceptible to change.’
