Our Mission

What We Do

Outline empowers students through their art. Students both learn to appreciate their own art, and have the opportunity to sell their work while getting first-hand experience in the art market.

Middle & High School students are invited to submit their artwork to be displayed and auctioned right in the heart of NYC. The proceeds of the auction are divided between DreamYard– a youth art organization and the artist directly.

Our Why

Art is often neglected in the shadow of traditional academics and sports, yet our goal at Outline is to help students see the value in their work and creativity. While students often view their artwork as ‘bad’ or ‘useless’, there is a limitless boundary to what defines art, and its abstraction is what makes it unique and valuable. Selling art is often seen as some unattainable feat, but through Outline, students will be able to give back to the community and get compensated in an innovative manner that they may not be able to do on their own.

Who am I?

Aman grew up in London surrounded by galleries and museums, where he developed his love for art. His entrepreneurial spirit, and close proximity to auctioneers both in London and now in New York, fostered his curiosity towards the art market, as he would wonder how such peculiar objects that anyone could make could fetch such outstanding prices. Back at school and at home Aman had a penchant for creativity and design; his limited technical ability fueled his appreciation for the abstract and unique. While having had a great exposure to various forms of art in schools, it was always hindered by the negative perception of art’s worth in comparison to academics or sports. Now given the chance, he wants to change that and empower other students to appreciate their art, while fueling their entrepreneurial spirit.
